For developers
Publishing on GAMEYARD is free and non-exclusive — keep your game on itch.io, Steam, and anywhere else. You keep all rights, and you can take your game down yourself at any time. Every upload passes an 8-step malware scan, and the scan record (engine version, date, SHA-256) is published on your game's page, so players can trust what they download. We do not process payments, so no payment provider decides what we host.
Questions developers ask
What is GAMEYARD?
GAMEYARD is a place to discover indie games — and for developers, a free place to publish them. We keep a catalog of over 20,000 games collected from public Steam and itch.io data, plus games uploaded directly by their creators. Every uploaded file passes an 8-step malware scan before it goes live.
Does it cost anything to publish my game?
No. Publishing is free, non-exclusive, and there is no revenue share — because we do not sell games at all. You keep every right to your work and can take it down yourself at any time.
Why is there no store?
By design. We do not process payments, so no payment provider can pressure us about what we host. If you sell your game on Steam or itch.io, we link players to your store page instead.
Can I play games without downloading anything?
Yes. Thousands of the games in our catalog run directly in your browser, including demos of commercial indie games — no download, no install, no launcher.
